Our Class Spelling Bee will take place next week, and we are excited to see our students get involved and show their spelling skills!
The Davis County Spelling Bee is a long-standing and well-loved academic competition that includes up to 70 schools across the district.
Each school holds its own school-level Spelling Bee, using an official Word Study List published in November. From there, each elementary school selects its top three spellers, who advance to the North or South End Semi-Final Bee in March.
One of the highlights of this program is that top spellers can earn college scholarships through the my529 program:
1st place: up to $2,500
2nd place: up to $1,500
3rd place: up to $1,000
We encourage all students to participate, practice, and enjoy this wonderful opportunity to build confidence, expand vocabulary, and celebrate learning in a supportive environment.
