Halloween is coming! We want everyone to enjoy this fun celebration in a safe, respectful, and family-friendly way. Please review the following guidelines when choosing your costume:
Be respectful: Avoid stereotypes and make sure your costume is culturally appropriate. Students may not dress up as an ethnic or cultural group (for example, Mexican, Geisha, Native American, etc.). Skin color must not be altered in any way.
Be responsible: Costumes should be suitable for all ages. Masks and make-up are not allowed. Costumes should not be scary, gory, or inappropriate.
Be safe: No hand-held accessories (real or pretend, such as wands or weapons) are allowed. Crowns or hats may be worn.
Be kind: Costumes should be fun and creative, not political or offensive.
Be understanding: Students may dress up as fictional characters as long as they follow the above guidelines.
Out of respect for Native American cultures, students are asked not to dress up as Native American figures or characters (e.g., Pocahontas, Sacagawea, Sitting Bull, etc.). This is considered cultural appropriation and is not acceptable.
📣 Important Reminder: Our Halloween Parade will take place on Friday, October 31, at 9:00 AM.
Families are welcome to attend and enjoy the creativity of our students!
Let’s celebrate Halloween together in a way that’s fun, safe, and respectful for everyone! 💜🎃
